In Sint-Amands, a blissful stop awaits you during your cycling trip. With your bike in hand, walk over the blue pedestrian bridge to the floating pontoon on the Scheldt, and wait for the ferry to meander its way over. The ferryman will take you to the other side, to Moerzeke, for free. Or a little further to Mariekerke. The triangular ferry Sint-Amands-Mariekerke-Moerzeke is one of 12 ferry services in Scheldeland. The Scheldt is at its most beautiful there. Many artists who have found inspiration here will happily agree. Poet Emile Verhaeren even chose this spot for his mausoleum, near the ferry quay.
